Join us for a fascinating 2-day workshop exploring stability and "the art of falling".
Many adults of all ages are concerned about their stability and fear falling and injury. Further, among older adults, falls are the leading cause of injury-related deaths. They are also the most common cause of nonfatal injuries and hospital admissions for trauma.
Dynamic stability is the ability to react effectively to a disturbance that takes us away from equilibrium and balance, mentally and physically.
During the workshop we will experience Stability and Falling as complementary actions, and explore healthy self preservation through increasing efficiency of action, using a delicate and safe learning process. It is suitable to everyone – no need for previous experience in the Feldenkrais Method.
The teacher, Moti Nativ, comes direct from Tel Aviv to Calgary to teach this 2-day workshop.
This workshop gives you valuable ideas on how to increase your stability and reduce falling and injuries. The instructor, Moti Nativ, has studied these issues from many perspectives. This workshop has been offered in many locations around the world. Participants have been very satisfied with what they learned.
Those who are care providers will broaden their knowledge about stability and ways to maintain it and will learn valuable new ideas and tools.
Feldenkrais practitioners will experience the explorations of young Dr. Feldenkrais as a martial artist. Through his knowledge we’ll learn some of the Martial Arts principles that are foundational to the Feldenkrais Method.

Why I am sponsoring Moti
A note from Rob Black.
I have known Moti for over 10 years, having participated in two workshops at the Annual Conference of the Feldenkrais Guild of North America, and having worked with him on international projects. It has been a dream of mine for people in Calgary (and practitioners at a distance) to experience the very special quality that makes this man.
Moti meets you as a human being; immediately upon meeting him, through his humanness, you also feel more capable, more aware. He embodies the Feldenkrais Method.
His workshops have been inspiring for me, for he takes very important aspects of being human, even some things that we fear, or avoid, and shows us how they can be more accessible, and through this, we can be more human. Of course, a lot of the workshops are about movements, and practicing on the floor before trying them upright. The way that he encapsulates the story of the movements gives the participants a very special sense of safety and support.
As a Feldenkrais practitioner, as I hear him speaking from this place of humanness, I see possibilities for how I can grow and develop. As I listen to the way he leads the class, I learn new ways of being a teacher.
Because of the special way Moti communicates, everybody learns, at many levels. Thus, professionals in movement sciences will discover new ideas for themselves and their patients/clients. Martial Artists will find that their practice deepens profoundly. Massage therapists will find they can have greater ease and effectiveness. Counsellors and Psychologists with interest in somatic aspects of therapy will discover a whole new space for exploration and understanding.
Come and enjoy this very special event.
